Biography

MICHALIS CHARALAMBIDES

Born in Pafos, Cyprus 1963. Studied Art and Exhibition design at Hastings College of Arts and Technology, U.K. 1985-1989. After his studies Works as an interior designer for a few years and at the same time he participates in group Art exhibitions. In 1996-1998 works for two years with his Father, the Artist, Andreas Charalambides  and in 1998 – 1999 with the Artist, Stass Paraskos at Cyprus College of Arts,in Lemba, Cyprus.

In 2001 he was selected by the Ministry of education and culture to represent Cyprus at the 8th international Biennale in Cairo, Egypt. In 2001-2002  he collaborates with Greek and British  artists and in order to highlight the Cyprus political problem they exhibit their work in London,  at the war Museum of Athens,Greece and in Nicosia, Cyprus. The group art exhibition with the title (the green line) was organised by Gallery K in London and it was based on photographs taken by the Photographer Doros Partasides.  In 2005 presents his work (Cypriot Landscapes) in Luxembourg under the auspices of the Ministry of culture of Luxembourg. His work is in various collections in Cyprus, Europe and the U.S.A.

Michalis Charalambides is a member of the Cypriot and Greek Chamber of fine arts.
